Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “If a Muslim plants a tree or sows a crop, then whatever bird eats of it, or a human being, or an animal, it counts as charity for him.” He also said, “Whatever is stolen from it, that too counts as charity.” [Bukhari & Muslim]

Key To Success

By Yasmin Mahboob,
Education Coordinator, HDF, Mardan.

A wise saying that “Hardwork is the key to success”, big achievement and success is only possible with handwork, courage, boldness and long lasting patience then one can get its goal in life successfully. Behind every big success there are a lots of sacrifices and hardships exist.

This is the true story of an innocent but bold and courageous girl named Shakeela, she is fourth of her parent’s seven children, her father has a shop in the village (which is the only source of income for nine livings) in the shop they are selling milk which her father and two elder brothers collect from the village two times a day (morning and evening). Their total earning is Rs.60/- per day. In this meager income they hardly spend their lives, and upon all this her father is an illiterate man and very strict to observe cultural and tradition norms and values. He did’nt/does’nt care to give education to their children, for him education does’nt play any role in life. When Shakeela touched the age of going to school, her father forbad her and her elder sister not to go to the school, her sister is a coward and shy girl, she remained at home and bowed her head to her father’s order, but Shakeela stood against her father and didn’t loose her guts, and not only continues her study but also taught her elder sister at home, which she taught at school. From the pocket money she maintained her books and fee of the school. Now she is the student of 6th class in the Fazal Killi Secondary School (HDF established school) and passed her 5th grade examination by gaining 508 marks. And in class she is also showing excellent performance and best attitude towards teacher and others. Her father every day cursing her daughter and her education, but she does’nt loose her courage and guts and has a thrill to gain education at any cost, and wants to become a valuable person in life. She is so grateful to HDF for establishing secondary school in her village, in other case it was not possible for her to continue her study in far away school.
