Visit of Mr. Shahid Saeed Khan
Chief Executive Indus Earth

On 12th June 2003 Mr. Shahid Saeed Khan, Chief Executive, Indus Earth – a NGO- paid visit to HDF Shamsabad Region. Indus Earth is a NGO working on Infrastructure Development particularly in most remote and neglected areas of the country.

Mr. Shahid Khan was briefed about the HDF programs currently in operation in the Region.

After the briefing and introduction with the staff members he was taken to the field area.

Following sites were visited by the guest:

1. Child Friendly School, Boys Village Allah Yar Turk
2. Child Friendly School, Girls, Village Allah Yar Turk
3. Community Health Clinic
4. Child Friendly School, Village Razi Khan Chandio
5. Live Stock Management and Training Institute.
6. Community Meeting at Village Allah Yar Turk

After the field visit the guest accompanied the HDF team to a community meeting.

The meeting had been convened for two purposes:

a. Formation of Health Committee
b. Formation of Village Development Organization (VDO) in village Allah Yar Turk (there are four male and two female Dos)

Mr. Shahid Khan watched all the proceedings and the process of VDO and Health Committee formation very attentively and with full interest.

The guest also praised the social mobilization process

After this community meeting Mr. Shahid Khan headed back to Karachi.

In the meanwhile Mr. Shahid Khan extended his cooperation in the following fields:

a. Indus Earth will provide training to local masons in low cost housing technology
b. Indus Earth will construct some schools for HDF
c. Any other infrastructure development work jointly planned.
d. Indus Earth will provide its services in networking and liaison with other donor organization and potential individuals for fund raising activities.

Mr. Shahid Khan remained all the day long with HDF staff and highly appreciated the programs and promised to extend every possible support for HDF development works in future.
