Celebration of Independence Day
at Zhob
DO- Khushal Shahabzai (one active DO of HDF Zhob Region) decided to arrange
a function for the announcement of result of its Child Friendly School and also
to celebrate Independence day of Pakistan on August 11, 2002. Parent’s
day was also held on the same day to discuss the progress of the school and
of the students.
Another purpose of this celebration was to make the children aware of the importance
of independence and to introduce the HDF program in a befitting manner.
On the stipulated date, the students were smartly dressed up and their faces
were shining with confidence and happiness. They had prepared poems for the
function and some poems were sung in chorus.
Tehsil Nazim, Mr. Amir Ullah Khan, was the Chief Guest of the ceremony.
Media men (both electronic and print media) also participated in the colorful
ceremony. Proceedings of the ceremony were started with the recitation of Holy
Quran. National anthem was played and the Chief Guest performed the flag hoisting.
During the ceremony, speech contests (English, Urdu and local language), Quiz
competition, Naat khawani, stage dramas and musharais have been arranged to
commemorate this occasion in a befitting manner.
School result was announced and the result of the Adult Literacy Centers was
also announced on the same day.
Tehsil Nazim distributed prizes among the students who performed on the rostrum
and the students who got top three positions were also awarded.
On the occasion, the Team Leader of HDF Zhob Region in his speech introduced
HDF and highlighted its activities. The participants appreciated the performance
of HDF.
Tehsil Nazim addressed the gathering and appreciated the work of HDF and its
schooling system. The Chief Guest announced Rs. 100,000 from his fund for the
construction of additional rooms for the same school. He not only lauded the
performance of HDF but also assured of his full cooperation in the future too.
Radio Pakistan Zhob later on aired the whole proceeding of the ceremony. Children
actively participated in the whole program and thus demonstrated their confidence
and courage. These students also took part in various District level contests
and won prizes on 14th August 2002.
