Support Rep. Barr’s Amendments to the Anti-terrorism Bill

(WASHINGTON, DC - 10/03/2001) The American Muslim Council (AMC) encourages everyone to support amendments from Rep. Bob Barr (R-GA) and others to limit broad expansion of law enforcement authority, and limitation of judicial review in immigration proceedings.

The AMC urges members of the Muslim community and others to call their Congressional representatives and ask for the antiterrorism bill to be slowed down for further evaluation. The House Judiciary Committee will hold a meeting today for the markup of the antiterrorism bill that will allow the opportunity for members of the House of Representatives to add amendments to the bill. There is an enormous amount of pressure for this bill to be voted on and passed immediately.
