Nanga Parbat, meaning "Naked Mountain" is the western anchor of the great Himalayan Range. It stands 26,660 feet high! The reason why it's called Nanga Parbat is because it presents formidable difficulties to the climber, due to its unstable glaciers and ice terraces, which are constantly sloughing off vast avalanches. The terrain is worse than Mount Everest!
