Additional Steps That Must be Taken

Register With Pakistan Embassy

Register with Pakistan embassy with all the information so they can work better for your causes. Please send your full name, mailing address, dedicated fax number, email address, and a few lines about yourself and your activities to parepwashington@erols.com or the fax number 202-232-4142. The subject should be "Registration/Updating information." Those Pakistanis already in the database should also send a communication via the same email/fax numbers, so that the Embassy may be able to send invitations/information on the correct addresses.

Address Change Reporting

Non-citizens, including lawful permanent residents, who remain in the United States for more than 30 days must notify INS of any address change. (“A” foreign government officials and “G” international organization representatives are exempt from this requirement). This obligation continues until a person becomes a U.S. citizen.

A Form AR-11 must be filed with INS within 10 days of an address change.

CARRY PROOF OF REGISTRATION

If age 18 or over, a non-citizen must "at all times" carry with them evidence of registration. Failure to do so is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $100 or imprisonment of up to 30 days. INA 264(e).

All Non-citizens are required to register with INS. The most common evidence a non-citizen may have that they have registered is a passport with a Form I-94, Departure Record; a Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card; or a Form I-766, Employment Authorization Card. 8 CFR 264.1(b).
