Assalamu alaikum,

It was 8:50:38 am, on October 8, 2005, an Earthquake of a magnitude of 7.6 struck the Himaliyan region of Kashmir. In seconds, entire cities were reduced to rubbles, burying millions alive.

The scale of this tragedy, in which 86,000 people perished and 3.3 Million left homeless, defied our darkest imagination. This weekend saw the first anniversary of the devastating earthquake.

One year on, about 400,000 people face a second winter without permanent shelter in the mountains and valleys of northern Pakistan.

One year on, HDF is still on the ground helping Kashmiris re-build their homes, hopes, and lives. We still have a tremondous job of development ahead of us!

Ask yourself today: What have I contributed to re-build and restore a family in Pakistan today? Ramadan is the time to take action!

2006 has been a busy and eventful year for HDF. We invite you to review our illustrative 2006 community report.

Please watch a PBS documentary on Human Development Foundation, ‘Progress for Peace’ on Bridges TV. The documentary will air on October 22nd at 8:30 pm ET and again on November 6th at 8:30 pm ET’

Peace,
HDF Team
