*~*~*~ Pakistanis in USA Must Register Now

*~*~*~ Concise History of HDF

Assalamu Alaikum!

Pak-Americans along with other civil right organizations in the US have filed a lawsuit against the INS, US government to stop detaining Muslims who are complying with the registration law.

In the meantime please inform all Pakistanis in the US that they must register before Feb. 21st 2003. Other Muslim countries are required to register before January 10, 2003. See more important detail below.

--------
One year is ending and another is about to begin. Let's think what we can do better next year for ourselves, our community and our country, both the old one and the new one. Let's plan.

Tomorrow US and Pakistan both have a holiday. In the US because of Christmas and in Pakistan because of Quaid-e-Azam's birth day. It should be a good time to think, reflect, and start planning for the next year. We are adding a few more speeches of Quaid-e-Azam to our site for your listening pleasure and thinking heart. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a great leader that is why Pakistanis call him Quaid-e-Azam.

---------
There is good news from Pakistan. It took about two years, but Pakistani police was finally able to arrest Bilal Khar a former MPA, on the charges of throwing acid on his wife. He was hiding in a truck when he was arrested. Law is becoming stronger in Pakistan. He is a son of a powerful landlord Ghulam Mustafa Khar, former chief minister of Punjab, who disowned him publicly after this act. Has he reformed? May be since he also threatened his former wife Tehmina Durrani of throwing acid on her as stated by Pakistan's most read author Ms. Tehmina Durrani.

The system will be better when police is trusted as honest party to help bring justice and when even a non high profile profile profile complaint gets some attention.

---------
Please advice all Pakistani men in the US who are over the age of 16 (born on or before Dec. 18, 1986) and were last admitted to the United States as a non-immigrant on for before Sept. 30, 2002 and will be in the US at least until Feb. 21st 2003 deadline, that they must report to INS for special registration. Failure to do that will result in detention and deportation. Please visit our page on INS at http://www.YesPakistan.com/INS

Also download a pdf page to be posted on all public places where Pakistanis go including Masjids, halal stores etc or distribute free.

"According to some estimates there are two cases of wife beating in Pakistan every hour" - Human Development In South Asia 1999. Pg. 115.
In the US 34% of adults report having witnessed a man beating his wife or girlfriend. Of the 5328 women murdered in 1990 in the US, FBI data indicate that about half or more of them by a husband or boyfriend.
