Like the human being the world over, Pakistanis
opened their hearts to the victims, rescuing people in Maldev, donating to neighboring
Indian victims and providing instant water cleaning kits to Indonesians along
with hundreds of Pakistani soldiers. Thank you Pakistan. Long live the humanity.
While tsunami victims continue to struggle, struggle
to rebuild Pakistan to take up higher challenges of life and bridge-building
continues.
No struggle can be undertaken without sacrifice.
We cannot help Pakistanis achieve its ideals unless we sacrifice for them. And
this is the message of the season of Hajj and Eid. The memory of Prophet Ibrahim
reminds us of the essential element of sacrifice in achieving higher goals.
Hajj itself is a struggle, a remembrance of struggle as well as a commitment
to it.
Congratulations to all Hajjis. We request that
while at Hajj, they commit themselves to a struggle to help suffering people
all over the world stand on their feet. We also suggest that Hajjis remember
how central sacrifice is to all struggles in the world. While running during
the sai of Safa and Marwa in the memory of a mother's struggle for her family,
remember mothers all around you and their struggles. Kindly also pray for HDF
and its team while there.

The Place of Prophet Ibrahim in Islam, Christianity and Judaism
Faith, sacrifice, commitment and patience. These
are just some of the qualities that characterize Prophet Ibrahim or Abraham
as he is called in English (peace be upon him). So it should come as no surprise
that he is revered not just in Islam, but in Christianity and Judaism as well.
Prophet Ibrahim is also a great personality to discuss in dialogues between
Muslims, Jews and Christians. Here are some basic information about him from

Eid: The Recurring Happiness!
Eid-ul-Adha is one of the two major yearly holidays of Islam. Eid-ul-Adha falls
on the 10th day of the Islamic month of Zul Hijjah. It commemorates the willingness
of Prophet Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael for the sake of God. May Allah's
peace be upon these two great Prophets. Eid is a day of thanksgiving and generosity.
