Assalamu alaikum,

Azadi Mubarak! It took about two hundred years of resistance, pleading and struggle to win our freedom. Pakistan came into being 58 years ago. The night was the night of power during Ramadan 1947.

Let us use the next few days to reflect on how to help this nation of 150 million.

August 14th will also mark the FOURTH anniversary of the launching of YesPakistan.com! HDF established this web portal to turn our volunteer work for human development into a movement of Pak-Americans for Pakistan. Thank you for your support! Please take few minutes to read a message from the HDF Co-Chairs.

As always, HDF is loaded with event updates and projects for you to volunteer for. Take advantage of the volunteer opportunity at the upcoming ISNA Convention on September 2-5, 2005.

Please help us fulfil our wish list. We would like to take this opportunity to announce the launch of HDF branch in Canada with its recent registration as a not for profit organization in Canada.

Muhammad Asad on the Meaning of Pakistan
Muhammad Asad was a Jewish European who became Muslim, translated the Quran and wrote the book Road to Makkah. Very few people know, however, that he was involved in building Pakistan. He actually migrated along with millions from India to Pakistan as his library was looted in India. 800 Attend HDF Fundraiser With Imran Khan
HDF's 2nd Annual Silicon Valley Benefit Dinner, held on Saturday, July 16, 2005 was a celebration of the humanitarian work since HDF's inception in 1997. Pakistani Cricket legend Imran Khan was the Keynote speaker; the event featured a good mix of brief motivational speeches, a moving video, entertainment, and a fund raiser.[read more]

Two Thumbs Up for HDF Dinner in Chicago
The 8th Annual Community Awareness and Fundraising Dinner for the HDF was held in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday April 30th, 2005. The evening began in the grand ballroom of the Hyatt Regency with tasteful and welcoming booths that displayed donated art, jewellery, clothing and other items. [read more]
