The
movement of education and literacy in Pakistan is contantly gaining
momentum. Human Development Foundation is in the front lines of
this noble struggle.
Although Pakistan's
literacy rate is still not that impressive, the overwhelming amount
of success
stories of non-formal
school graduates and self-taught young geniuses in Pakistan
are inspiritng!
A lot of work
to be done to enhance our education system in Pakistan. Pak-Americans
are the most highly educated Pakistanis in the world. It's our responsibility
to give back to Pakistan and its people what brough us here to begin
with: Education and Talent.
We invite
you to join our ever-growing movement of community empowerment and
education. There are 5
practical ways you can help!
On behalf
of the board members and staff of the Human Development Foundation
we extend our heartfelt sympathies to the victims of Katrina. It
is one of the worst storms in the southern United States and has
affected thousands of people in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi
destroying almost everything in its path. Please help

Arfa Karim Randhawa asked the Microsoft founder why the company
doesn't hire people her age. Arfa, a promising software programmer
from Faisalabad, Pakistan, is believed
to be the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional in the world.[read

Pakistan's Paradox: Weak Institutions, Strong People
Pakistan is a country with one of the lowest literacy rates in the
world, but, interestingly, some of its highly educated people have
dominated many international forums. In addition, Pakistan's human
capital abroad represents some of the finest talent available, not

How to Counter Low Achievement in Pakistan's Schools?
There has been much emphasis placed on getting Pakistani
children into primary schools to ensure that they receive at least
a basic education. While it is critical that children stay in school,
it is equally important that they perform well. In order to raise
the achievement levels of Pakistan's primary school students, a
number of critical steps must be taken. [read

with the participation of the local community, has been running
several non-formal schools that have empowered thousands of children
and adults. All the expenses except the space (which is provided
by the community) are born by HDF, including all the material, teacher's
salary, teachers' training etc. Read

HDF counts on its volunteers to carry out most of its activities
in US. We are thankful to people who have volunteered to manage
our booths at community events, distributed our brochures during
Ramada, organized fund raising events for us and much more. We are
looking for people with various skills who are willing to commit
their time on a regular basis. [read
