The Human Development Foundation (HDF) and the Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America (APNA) are working in collaboration to raise funds for the helpless victims of Katrina tragedy.

Please read about some inspiring relief efforts by the Houston Muslim Physicians as they organized a mobile clinic with the City of Houston for the victims of Katrina.

The magnitude of loss and suffering is immense, as it will take months, if not years for our fellow citizens in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi to resume 'normal life'. Please help them to the best of your ability.

Houston Muslim Physicians Organize Mobile Clinics for Katarina Relief
The planning for this ambitious idea started on Friday September 2nd 2005 when group of Houston physicians met with the mayor and his health care team in accompany with Mr. M J Khan our city council. The only agenda was how could we help our neighbors and our beloved city to cope with this catastrophic disaster. [read more]

Help the Victims of Katrina!
Our prayers are with not only those who are directly hit by it but also the ones whose loved ones have suffered. May God give them patience and courage to handle this tragedy. We are also praying for the safety of our board members, volunteers and supporters who have been affected by this natural calamity. HDF urges everyone to help! [read more]

Our Third World
We tolerate poverty and flaunt environmentalism, and therefore the poorest of the poor were left to flounder and drown in a "toxic gumbo" that may have been created by a hell spawn of global warming. While our president presides over the bloated windfall (for a few) known as the war on terror - saving us from nothing - and purports to be spreading freedom and democracy across the planet, America's own Third World raises up its hand in desperation. 10 Things Families can do to Fight Poverty
We become so used to just opening up the fridge when we're hungry, we forget there are countless millions who don't have this luxury. Call up the local soup kitchen and ask if you can make the food there for one meal. Nothing fancy. Get the family and some friends to help too. [read more]

Have Mercy!
There is no other call for mercy that is more universal or more inspiring. Have mercy on all the people. And do it because you yourself need the mercy of Allah. Be merciful to the other creations so the Creator will have mercy on you. Your mercy should see no bounds. It should reach all human beings.[read more]

Calling All Volunteers in IT, Marketing, Writing and More!
HDF counts on its volunteers to carry out most of its activities in US. We are thankful to people who have volunteered to manage our booths at community events, distributed our brochures during Ramadan, organized fundraising events for us and much more. We are looking for people with various skills who are willing to commit their time on a regular basis. [read more]
