Nuclear War Survival Skills, Tools, and Tips
The average Pakistani has far too little information that would help him or
her and their families survive a nuclear attack. Unknown to most Pakistanis
is the fact that our Government lacks the defense capabilities that would enable
Pakistan and its civilians to survive a nuclear war!
India's and Pakistan's nuclear-armed missiles and strike aircraft are on a
hair-trigger, three-minute alert. A single false alarm could lead to a nuclear
exchange that would kill two million men, women and children immediately and
gravely injure 100 million. Indian and Pakistani nuclear reactors are prime
targets in any war. Pakistan and India both have missiles that can reach about
2,000 miles. This is enough to target all major cities in South Asia and most
of West Asia.
Not only are the Pakistani government and politicians unprepared to handle
a nuclear catastrophe and lack an efficient civil defense mechanism, sadly,
many of the Pakistani citizens entertain beliefs about nuclear war that are
both false and dangerous.
One of these false beliefs is that nuclear war would be such a terrible catastrophe
that it is an unthinkable impossibility. If this were true, there would be no
logical reason to worry about nuclear war or to make preparations to survive
a nuclear attack. History shows that once a weapon is invented it remains ready
for use in the arsenals of some nations and in time will be used.
The second false belief is that, if a nuclear war were to break out, it would
be the end of mankind. If this were true, a rational person would not try to
improve his or her chances of surviving the un-survivable.
While Pakistanis should all try our best to influence and convince our politicians
to do everything possible to avoid an all-out nuclear war and should constantly
seek refuge in God from such devastation, Pakistani citizens should also be
well equipped, both physically and mentally, to handle the disaster and stay
optimistic in all circumstances. There ARE a number of preparations things they
can do survive a nuclear fallout.
Yes Pakistan's team has researched and compiled a list of useful links outlining
the precautionary measures one could take to survive a nuclear fall out in Pakistan
and India. It is hoped that this information would be a significant step in
informing and cautioning the Pakistani citizens.
Cold war and India-Pak Conflict: Analysis
Unlike the U.S. and Russia were on 30 minutes alert during the 50 year long
Cold War, India's and Pakistan's nuclear-armed missiles and strike aircraft
are on a hair-trigger, with only 3-minute alert! It implies that Pakistani and
Indian citizens have 1/10 of the preparation time to protect themselves against
a radioactive fallout! Read on to learn 4 lessons from the U.S.-Russia Cold
War.
11 Steps to Nuclear War Fallout
Survival: Governments and communities at all levels plan
for the survival of their Nation in the event of a nuclear war. But the survival
of individuals also will depend upon the preparation that each person makes.
Persons ready to take the right action before and following an attack will increase
their chances of survival. This pamphlet describes what YOU can do before and
following a nuclear attack:
Self
Protection During A Nuclear Crisis: If our country were under a nuclear
attack today, in all likelihood, every citizen would need protection from
radioactive fallout. Whether you live in a "high-risk" or
"low-risk" area, you will need to have some basic knowledge on how
to protect yourself and your family from the dangers of radioactive fallout.
What then can you do to protect yourself, your family and loved ones? There
are really only two choices available: 1) You may help local officials and/or
concerned citizens to upgrade what fallout shelters there are, if any; 2)
Build and fully stock your own fallout shelter to protect yourself and your
family.
Nuclear War Survival Skills:
This unique online book, by Cresson Kearny, serves two important purposes:
1) it will help to save lives. Civil self-defense is at once the most peaceful
and the most effective deterrent of nuclear war.
2) it shows that with relatively inexpensive governmental guidance and supplies,
an educated public could, indeed, defend itself. We could survive a nuclear
war and remain a nation.
This book brings together field-tested instructions that have enabled untrained
Americans to make expedient fallout shelters, air pumps to ventilate and cool
shelters, fallout meters, and other expedient life- support equipment.
Physicians for Social
Responsibility (Chicago Chapter)
Understanding that nuclear war continues to be the most acute threat to human
life and the global biosphere, PSR reaffirms its commitment of nearly forty
years to the elimination of nuclear weapons and the reversal of the arms race
and the national budgetary priorities which fuel that race, sacrificing our
nation's health, social and economic needs.
