Quick Facts About Nuclear Weapons
- U.S. has approximately 7,300: strategic nuclear weapons.
- Russia has approximately 6,000 strategic nuclear weapons.
- Under the START III agreement U.S. and Russia would still be allowed (or
suggested) to have 1,500-2,000 of strategic nuclear weapons.
- Currently, there are 1,700-2,200 strategic U.S. nuclear weapons deployed
by the U.S. President George W. Bush.
- The Russian President Vladimir Putin, during the November 2001 summit, said
that two-thirds of its nuclear arsenal would be cut. Leaving approx. 2,000.
- There are around 14,300 strategic nuclear weapons worldwide!
- The United States spent $3.5 trillion between 1940 and 1995 to prepare to
