Azadi Mubarak! Happy Pakistan Independence Day!
Although Irish Americans continue to help the Irish and American Jews continue
to help Israel, when Pak-Americans help Pakistan or celebrate Pakistan Independence
Day, some question our integrity and commitment to our new country, USA.
It is a time honored American tradition. Most immigrants to the US continue
to maintain ties with the old country not only at the emotional level but also
to help relatives at home and the old country.
We see it as our duty to serve. While we benefit America with
our hundreds of thousands of Pak-American professional skills, we feel we owe
it to Pakistan in education, health and other fields of human development. By
doing so we are building bridges for America, of love, care, mutual respect
and humanity.
We feel as proud to celebrate Pakistan Independence Day, as
we observe the American Independence
